2  Scouts / Scouts / An Important Letter from our Scout Leader to all Parents and Adults on: March 16, 2010, 10:06:55 PM
As you know the Scout Group is growing rapidly.  The Scout Troop needs your assistance to continue this growth and be able to support your scouts.
If you are a dedicated, self-motivated adult who cares about future generations, and  are willing to volunteer your time in order to develop self-reliance, initiative and responsibility in today’s young people.  Then speak to 1st Bentleigh Scouts today.
As a Leader, you undertake training in working with young people, including learning the basics of Scouting, leadership, safety and program planning.  You will also help to provide self development to young people through a variety of challenging, adventurous and achievement-oriented experiences with a focus on teamwork and leadership.
Scouting provides adults with an opportunity to lead and gain satisfaction working with young people and other adults.  Through Scouting, you can make a direct positive impact on your local community and on the lives of young people.
You’ll make new friends, stay fit and healthy, gain self confidence, learn new skills and maybe even have the opportunity to travel nationally and internationally.

If this sounds like you please, contact Alan Harding (0409 515 998) or
Brigitte Reiche (0411 562 008) today.

Yours in Scouting

Alan Harding
Scout Leader
1st Bentleigh Scout Group

A run down on the show:

Join us for our 58th year. The show consists of two wonderful performances. Act one is an exciting show filled with pirates, pirates and more pirates. As for act two - you've heard of Cats? Well this is Dogs!

In Bold Pirates, a crew of ageing bucaneers shipwrecks near the shining city of Sinkport, a town beside the sea. They soon discover that not all is well in the glittering town - the rich live a life of ease, protected by the Garrison, but underneath their perfect veneer are the less fortunate citizens, who work day and night for little pay. When the Garrison offers the citizen's children free education out at sea, it almost seems too good to be true - and when the pirates raid a ship laden with treasure, they get more than they bargained for!

A Doggone Life follows the tail tale of Wanda, a young pup living in a Lost Dogs' home who dreams of something more. When a Bulldog offers her the chance to go out into the world and get a job, a whole new life of opportunities opens up to her - as well as a whole lot of trouble! Wanda finds herself caught up with some strays at the K9 club, ruled by Mafia boss Roach - who has a plan most sinister! Can Wanda and her new found friends save the day? Only one way to find out...

12  Welcome to the 1st Bentleigh Scouts Forum / New member? Introduce yourself here! / Hello from the Pink GL on: March 16, 2010, 06:28:10 PM
A couple of you may have guessed by now, just who I am. Yes your GL aka "Group Leader"
Brigitte by any other name  Wink

Welcome to the Scouting Forum for 1st Bentleigh.
Anytime you have any questions, or want to chat to someone, you can come in here and catch up in between meetings.
There will be heaps of information gradually added all the time.
Feel free to post up useful information, anything about yourself or links that you find interesting that can help with badge work, or any adventurous activity.  As you can see, I have a passion in my own adventurous activity. It does get a little bit physical throwing a bike around a race track.
My next goal will be to take up hiking soon, so I can come along and accompany some of you lucky youth who get to do all the fun stuff all the time.

See you around  Cheesy
